I’ve always prided myself on being a critical thinker – someone who tries to see the other side of any topic, someone who doesn’t take one opinion as a final word. Lately I’m starting to see that this often results in actions that are self-serving and hurtful. Playing “devils advocate” for the sake of conversation in matters of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. is most often unnecessary, unhelpful, and only furthers pain. Hey @digitalfoundry, remember that time we decided to get married at city hall and we paid that random guy outside $50 to be our witness and he told us for an extra $50 he would take our photos so we took him up on the offer and when we got the photos emailed to us they were all blurry like literally every single one of them and the only photos we have that are in focus from that day are our selfies? Happy anniversary of that! Marrying you continues to be the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I love you!!!!!!!!!
